This place is the best bang for your buck. Especially when you're tired of 20 dollar hotel rooms. We got a spectacular room with a view of the city on the 12th floor and a comfortable mattress. The breakfast was 5 stars, and the people were great. I'm definitely going to stay here the next time I visit Bogotá

Booked stay for to experience the classic historic hotel of Colombia. Pros - The staff in general were friendly and helpful. The suite was spacious and beautiful. The breakfast was fair. Cons - the wifi doesn't work well on the 15th floor. the taxis outside prices are too high. The front desk manager is rude and takes advantage of tourists. Before booking I researched to see the hotel itself said it on numerous question pages that it is ok to have guests to your room during the day. Only a charge applies for overnight. Well the lady at the front desk charges me $27.97 USD or 106,000 COL Peso to allow my friend to see my beautiful room. All I requested was less than an hour just to show the beautiful view but she charges me this price. On top of that it was only for up to 3 hours. She claimed it was a new policy. I feel this is a "gringo tax". I will never use any other GHL properties in the future. This staff member needs training on guest experience.

Lovely older five star hotel offering old world charm. This hotel is being renovated to bring it back to it's glory. Nevertheless, my room was clean, bright and spacious with a comfy king sized bed and a large safe that could hold my laptop and my valuables. The gym equipment was super clean and new. Worked out every day and there was never more than one other person there. The buffet breakfast was really great and staff and service were fantastic. This hotel was amazing value for the money. It was so much nicer than the air bnb I originally booked and it was the same price. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants and stores located on site.
