Summary: Strongly advise AGAINST contracting with Spaces in Hong Kong I've rented at many co-working spaces in Hong Kong and this is by far the worst when it comes to customer service/support. Here are a few examples: *During the height of the anti-government protests in Hong Kong and covid in 2020 while most co-working spaces were offering discounts and rent moratoriums, Spaces raised my rent by about 10%. I tried to negotiate but they wouldn't. Each renewal period they raise rent about 10% so that by end I was paying around 1200 USD for approx 40 square foot private office in Wan Chai. *The wifi shorted out on a regular basis. This affected my business adversely. Each time I notified them they suggested that it was a "problem with the cable" or "due to my settings" which it wasn't. When I persisted in getting to the bottom of it, it always turned out to be some sort of setting on their side that resolved the issue when the IT fixed it. The IT does not respond same day, next day, or even days later. It required constant reminders and requests for help to get an answer many days later. *I signed up for 24-hour access but several times access to the building was blocked off at night/weekends and I had to call and wait for security to arrive. This was in violation of my contract and affected my business adversely. *Air conditioners are linked across private rooms. The room linked to mine was vacant but sometimes Spaces staff would use it and change the temperature to a freezing 18C degrees. This was surprising to me that they would change the temperature of a paying tenant's room. Sometimes they would show the room to prospective clients and do the same thing, without regard for the comfortable and environmentally-friendly 25C degrees I had it set at. This seems like a small thing but it is emblematic of the disregard they have for their tenants. *Twice they painted rooms on the floor I was located. That is understandable, but what is not is that they did it during business hours so that my office smelled strongly of paint the entire day which made work distracting to say the least. Again this is emblematic of the disregard they have for their tenants. *All of the above was frustrating but there is no senior manager to escalate the issues with. The front desk staff were nice and well-meaning, but they do not have any decision-making authority and the answer was always unsatisfying in regards to all the issues I raised above. For example, in regards to the room painting the reply was, "We have opened all the windows and put coffee beans in the room to absorb the smell." This was not helpful or effective. Pros: *support staff like cleaners and security guards are super kind and helpful *facility is clean and well taken care of *good location
