Located on 122 E 42nd St, #Midtown #Manhattan #Chanin_building by Irwin Salmon Chanin an Art Deco style tower with black Belgian marble tiles on the ground floor, #bronze embossed frieze above depicting scenes of #evolution and a #zigzag floral pattern (which you can see). Lobbies are also #worthvisiting, originally served as a "palatial" bus terminal which still connect to the #GrandCentral #subway station. Originally 50th floor had a silver-and-black #luxurious #high-brow movie theater. Atop the building from 1936 to 1965 was the transmission site for most-listened-to #classical-music station in the US #WQXR FM. I prefer this Subway entrance to Grand Central Terminal as it is not as congested as Grand Central Terminal and I can find my way easier around from this entrance. Would love to actually visit the center on my next trip the Manhattan. Very impressive architectural structure to this building!
