Disappointing stay – I felt unsafe in my own hotel room I stayed at Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. Things started off poorly when I found out that the rooftop bar – one of the hotel’s advertised highlights – was closed to guests due to a private event. This was not mentioned beforehand and felt misleading. More concerning, however, was what happened during my stay. Despite having a “Do Not Disturb” sign clearly hanging on my door, housekeeping still entered my room while I was out. I caught the staff member still inside when I returned, and when I asked why she had entered, she acted like she hadn’t seen the sign and quickly said, “Five minutes and I’ll be gone.” The trash bins weren’t even emptied – so what was the purpose of entering? It made me feel seriously unsafe. I raised the issue with the hotel manager, whose first response was, “Are you sure the sign was there?” – which felt like he was doubting my story. After some back-and-forth, I finally received an apology. At check-out the next day, no one asked how my stay had been – I had to bring it up myself. I spoke with a different manager, explained again how uncomfortable the situation made me, and was offered a 25% discount on a future stay – but honestly, I won’t be returning. On the surface, the hotel looks great. But for me, safety and respect for privacy are essential – and this hotel failed on both fronts. A real shame.
