The hotel had both positive and negative aspects. My room was nice and clean, providing a comfortable stay. However, the reception staff seemed somewhat uninterested in my needs. Unfortunately, the public restrooms had a terrible smell, and the towels in my bathroom also had an unpleasant, musty odor. On the bright side, breakfast was enjoyable, and the waitresses in the breakfast room were polite and helpful.

Overall this is a decent hotel for our 8 day stay in London. Location is less than 5 minutes walk to Paddington station, restaurants, bus stops, convenience stores, and Hyde Park. The room is large with lots of closet space. The bathroom floor is heated, which was really nice. The hotel restocks coffee and refrigerator drinks complementary every day. Rooms are clean and the housekeepers do a wonderful job. The hotel is in a quiet courtyard area.
However, it is to experience what you get. We booked the suite with a balcony. We found the glass door was cracked from corner to corner, and remained for our whole stay. Which made the room very cold when we opened the curtains. Also the bathroom light switch is outside the door, so you flash your partner sleeping if you need to use the restroom at night. There is no power socket for a hair blow dryer in the bathroom. Lastly, the pillows are really thin and uncomfortable.
Customer service was 50/50. Some front desk agents were very nice and went above and beyond. But one female at night was not helpful or friendly.

Like the location of the hotel. Close to Paddington train station and walking distance to tourist area.
The room is quite spacious. I only see one elevator for guest and hotel service, the corridor is narrow. During our stay the guest above our room made a lot of noises like pounding and bouncing sound las someone was walking or running around. Quite annoying because it happened during rest time at night.
The overall beside that, our stay was pleasant. The staff are nice the hotel ambience and room facilities is good. My rating is base on the same hotel categories and star.

I went here for an appointment and not actually a guest.
It was a bit difficult to find as they have 2 of these hotels not far from each other, I went to the first one and was redirected to the second one.
Incidentally you could just cross the road to another hotel opposite, walk through that and burst out on the other side to Mercure Hotel however I did not know this and I followed the directions from the staff of the first sister hotel which took me a very long way round and I still got the directions mixed up.
I was welcomed by two nice young staffs at the reception and they pointed me to where I needed to be, however while sat I saw many hotel customers come in and out.
I must say that the hotel layout seems a bit unconventional but this will not be unconnected to London and it's small in things, the hotel had some turns left right that takes you through to the dining, you had to walk through another part to access the storage and elevators, yes I am sure it's a good place but not your typical layout as you may expect.

I'm dissatisfied with my stay at Mercure Hyde Park.
The room (one of their suites) in itself is overall quite nice, but when looking in detail, it really isn't as good as the price you pay. For the major ones: the interior of the bathroom door is covered with dust, half of the rain shower holes are clogged up with limescale with makes for an unpleasant result, the shower door seal hangs from the door, there's a small hatch in the carpet which is broken.
I didn't drink the complimentary beverages on my first night, and some of them where gone the following day ?! Very unacceptable.
The staff at reception are nice but nothing more, they didn't greet guests entering and leaving the hotel when I was there.
Worst of all in my opinion is that they managed to charge my credit card TWICE for my stay. They seem to have reversed the payment after a back and forth with Accor Assistance. Didn't get a reply from the hotel directly.
I don't think I'll be coming back to this hotel.
