Hongqiao World Center's first completed building was the Gallery in 2014, designed by Aedas. Depending on where you look at it, it looks like the pointed bow of an ocean-going ship or a wave-like object whose shapes curve. Large, elongated window fronts alternate with aluminum coatings, which give the building an exclusive look. From another side, it shows a uniform, multi-story level with sloping panels marking a porch. The versatility of this building sets it apart from the other properties in the area. The gallery's form was designed in response to the nearby "cloverleaf" concept of the Qingpu Xujing Conference and Exhibition Center. You can easily get back and forth between the two properties via a covered pedestrian bridge. The design continues perfectly inside too. This property impressively shows modern architecture in China, which is by no means limited to the global high-rise competition.
