Sometimes called 'Little Paris', Bucharest has plenty of beautiful coworking spaces on offer.
Sometimes called 'Little Paris', Bucharest has historically been known as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. And the legend of its origin is equally as lovely as its architecture. So the story goes, the city was named after a shepherd called Bucur, who fell in love with a woman named Dâmboviţa - aka, the river that runs through the city!
Considering that love quite literally flows through the heart of Bucharest, it's no wonder that the city's coworking spaces have been created with such care in mind. So without further ado, here are our four favourite flexible workspaces in Bucharest, all currently available through NearU. Just read to the end for more information on how to book. grey matter hub bucharest.jpeg56.29 KB
For techies: Grey Matter Hub - €18.20pp*
A hub for workers in the digital sphere, Grey Matter is the perfect mix between old world architecture and modern technology. While they've only been around since 2019, they've already gained a reputation as one of the best coworking spaces in the city. And despite their name, this flexible work space is anything but cry, with plenty of colourful walls and interiors to keep you feeling alert.
You'll find all the typical facilities at Grey Matter Hub, including high speed wifi, coworking desks, and plenty of meeting rooms. As well as some more unique features, like a dedicated community manager, free tea & coffee and weekly community events. They also know how hard it is getting your small business of the ground, which is why they can help you with administrative tasks like post and package handling, as well as business registration. Now that's what we call good customer service.

Sink your teeth into some culture at The Dracula Museum
Romania is perhaps best known for being the fictional home of the blood-sucking Count Dracula. According to the novel by Bram Stoker, the Count was a native to Transylvania, a mountainous area north of Bucharest. Luckily, you don't need to stray too far from the capital to grab a bite of some of their vampiric culture, since the Dracula Museum is just around the corner from Grey Matter Hub. Here you can also learn about the historic ruler who the Romanians like to think of as the real-life Dracula, Vlad Tepes, or Vlad the Impaler. Screenshot 2022-03-29 at 18.17.00.png1.87 MB
For dog-lovers: Commons Work - €18pp
One of the most prominent coworking spaces in the city, Commons Work Unirii is one of three of their Bucharest locations. Located in the heart of the city just off the River Dâmbovita and the Piata Unirii, you truly can't get much more central than this.
Their flexible work space is spread across three floors, with amenities like their fireside lounge and communal chill-out areas. They also offer meeting rooms, printing services and reportedly 'lightning' fast wifi - consider patchy Zoom calls a thing of the past. Plus, they're even dog friendly! So if you're having a bad day you can pretty much count on being cheered up by a furry friend.
Grab a coffee at Grand Cafe Van Gogh
A must visit when in Bucharest, Grand Cafe Van Gogh is a coffee shop with an artistic twist. Enjoy their eclectic food and drink menu with coworkers on your lunch break, whilst taking in the magnificent decoration that surrounds you. The Grand Cafe is also taking measures to ensure extra safety from COVID, with servers wearing masks and checking vaccination passes upon entry. v7 startup 2.jpeg149.75 KB
For startups: V7 Startup Studio - €22pp
As the name might suggest, this space has been designed with startups in mind. Situated north of the city's historic Old Town, V7 Startup Studio is a vibrant community of digital nomads, entrepreneurs and a whole host of other interesting individuals. They promise to be the perfect place to help you focus, collaborate and grow your business.
We love how light and airy this flexible work space is whilst also creating their own unique look through the use of wooden beams and yellow walls. As well as being able to access their coworking lounge and meeting rooms, you can also wind-down on your break in their book nook. Just grab a communal book from the shelf and start reading! In fact, we highly recommend you do, since reading has been show to reduce stress, increase empathy levels, and overall improve your mental health.
Visit the Royal Palace of Bucharest
The largest royal residence in the country, the Royal Palace of Bucharest is a must-see for any history lovers in the city. Formerly home to the Romanian royal family, after the revolution in 1989 the Palace became a public site for visitors to enjoy. The main palace now also serves as the National Art museum.
