The beds weren’t that comfortable however, we loved the proximity to the train station and the breakfast!! All of the staff we encountered were very kind and helpful. Lebechi made our mornings great in the breakfast area and always had a smile on his face. The room temperature was perfect and we were able to control it the whole stay. We also thought it was a plus that the plugs in the room had usb and usb - c plugs in case you forgot an adapter. As a traveler, this made me so happy to see! I was able to charge many of my devices at once.

From check in the experience was excellent. I believe Holiday Express London has the friendliest, most professional staff we’ve experienced in a long time. The moment we checked in we, were met with smiles and greatly assisted by front desk staff advice on getting our delayed luggage delivered. And upon shift change at the front desk the next day, the professionalism, hospitality, and superb service continued. The complimentary breakfast was above average when compared to other hotels with the same offering. The kitchen staff—with a shout out to very friendly, Lebechi—were excellent. All hotel staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was the most pleasant experience, but I must single out Susan for special mention. Susan’s down to earth, warm, friend personality and welcoming spirit is second to none to those I’ve met in the hospitality sector. If we had an issue, Susan found a solution. She exuded an impeccably high level of professionalism and personal attention. Susan made our stay very special. My compliments to the management of this hotel who are hiring really not just great staff but special people, and if we’re back this way again we will most surely be staying at the Holiday Express London Excel.

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express London Excel for a concert and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel itself was very nice with a beautifully designed lobby that made a great impression. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was amazing. It had a generously sized shower which I appreciated. It was also a nice touch to have an iron and ironing board available in the room. One of the standout features was the dining options which offered pizzas and toasties and worldwide foods. We were served by Richard who was incredibly friendly and accommodating - perfect hospitality service from Richard! Breakfast was another highlight for us, with an all-you can eat buffet featuring both a full English and continental selection which made a great start to the day. The location was ideal for us as the DLR was nearby and London City Airport just a short distance away. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and will definitely be coming back!
