The Base Lisbon

I checked out a few coworking spaces in Lisbon and this one was my favourite! Community manager Victor is super friendly and helpful, and the premises are comfortable and spacious. It does get cold so bring an extra layer to work. I also would have hoped for more events and community building efforts, now the only regular event is the Thursday trivia which is great but when I went, none of the other participants were actually from The Base. Otherwise I really enjoyed my month at The Base!

Great coworking space! There’s free coffee and some snacks too, and the events are nice. I had very good focus while working there. Victor, the community manager, is very caring and and will do everything he can to make you feel welcomed.

Eh, my professional microphone, kindle and cables were stolen after I left them over night and for a day in one of the shelves. (it was in a black bag at the bottom of the self) I assumed if people work there with their monitors and it's only possible to get in with a fingerprint it would be safe. Well that was a reaaally expensive assumption costing me several hundred euros. In my last coworking space everyone left their monitors and gear near the entrance and the community was really trustworthy and safe so nothing got away. They didn't find out who stole it. So that person may still have access to the space. Well all I can say - always, always, always take all your stuff home or store it in the lockers (only available to fixed desk members) Sidenote: the tables at the windows would be sooo much better if they would be higher, then they would be actual standing desks. At this current height they cause people to slouch and sit with a rounded back. However, the community manager Victor is really sweet and a lovely human so two stars for him!
