I’ve stayed at Intercontinental London Park Lane several times over the years, and while the hotel still delivers in many ways, this visit left me with mixed feelings. The hotel has been nicely renovated since my last stay, and its location remains one of the best in London—central, elegant, and easy to access. The entrance staff are consistently helpful and welcoming, and check-in was smooth and fast. However, as a Diamond member, I wasn’t acknowledged, there was no welcome note, and no upgrade. I later learned the hotel was fully booked due to the marathon, which I understand, but even so, I didn’t feel special or recognized for my loyalty. I once described this hotel as my “home away from home.” This time, it didn’t feel that way. The personal warmth and attention that once defined the experience seem to have faded. The suite was clean at first glance, and I appreciated the turndown service, along with the pleasant scent the team leaves after each cleaning. But housekeeping missed some basic details: a dirty towel was left on the floor, tea supplies weren’t replenished, and my shirt remained under the seat for two days—clear signs of a drop in attentiveness. The club lounge remains a highlight—generous with champagne during happy hour and offering a great breakfast selection. Staff were friendly, but lounge timings weren’t explained at check-in and had to be asked about. The gym was excellent—very clean, well-equipped, and actively maintained. Towels on each machine and visible cleaners showed a high level of care in that area. Checkout was smooth, and I still enjoy the hotel and love being in London.
But I hope the Intercontinental Park Lane revisits the attention to detail and warmth that once made it stand out so much more.

We made the reservation through a travel agency asking for 2 twin beds and a shower. When we checked in the room was with queen bed and bathtub. When informed the receptionist that this is not what we asked for, and he informed us that showers are only available at the renovated rooms and we have to pay extra for that. Plus since our booking has been made through travel agency, we won’t get points on our membership. We refused to pay the extra money, and they gave us a handicap room. The toilet was beg enough but still with a bathtub and the sink is very low, you have to bend 90 degrees to use it. After sending an email to the IHG explaining what happened, the guest services manager Mr. Fabian came and gave us the renovated rooms with shower and 2 twin beds with no charge. And we got the membership points. He was very helpful and generous. Tried his best to male our stay enjoyable. Toilet in the room is very small though. Room size is okay. The hotel location is the best thing about the hotel. Hotel was very full. Breakfast was good, they have many good options. Will I come back to the hotel? Not sure!

Couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We spent 4 nights at the Intercontinental. Location is quietly tucked into the southern corner of Mayfair. We walked around Mayfair every day. Bus and tube stops are close by. Always taxis waiting outside the hotel. Staff are amazing. Room keeper went above and beyond. Our room was a Premium King not on the renovated floor. Really liked the room. Perfect size with an actual bath tub. TVs are all new enough to cast to. Sunlight floods the room in the morning if you don’t have the black out curtains down. Breakfast was great - ton of options that are pretty healthy. They’ll brew coffee with a French press and bring it to your table to press yourself. Can opt for espresso as well. The spa was unique as well. Personal steam room was cool but would probably just opt for a longer massage instead next time.
